Plans for the construction and operation of the Paralympic Sports Centre have been presented

The plans to build and operate the first Paralympic Sports Centre in Greece, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Sport, the Region of Attica and the municipality of Rafina/Pikermi were presented at an event at the Olympic Velodrome. The construction and operation of the Paralympic Sports Centre implements the commitment of the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to support the sport of the disabled, within the framework of the general government policy and initiatives for People with Disabilities. The presentation of the Paralympic Sports Centre was attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport, Lefteris Avgenakis, the Secretary General of Sport, Giorgos Mavrotas, the MEP Stelios Kybouropoulos, the Regional Governor of Attica, Giorgos Patoulis, the Mayor of Rafina/Pikermio, Evangelos Bournous and members of the municipal council, the President of the Hellenic Paralympic Committee, Giorgos Foudoulakis, the president of the Association of Greek Para-Olympians, Grigoris Polychronides, the president of the Federation of Greek Basketball Players' Associations with Wheelchair, Christos Kaloudis, the Secretary General of the National Sports Federation of Persons with Disabilities, Konstantinos Sechos, the administration of OAKA, the administration of the SEF, many Para-Olympians and athletes with disabilities.

The presentation of the Paralympic Sports Centre was made by the Civil Engineer OF THE NTUA, Konstantinos Leontos, stating: "We are pleased to present to you the proposal of our company "Liontos and Associates" for the new Paralympic Sports Center, which will be built in the Municipality of Rafina/Pikermio. It realistically aspires to be an important landmark with a national, Balkan and pan-European dimension. Milestone of a new concept that links sport with culture, a society that constantly and in a practical way reaffirms its commitment to the timeless values of social cohesion, equality and fair accessibility to all and all regardless of citizens.
