A valid effort at 162 kg was enough for Dimitris Bakochristos to win the gold medal in the -54kg category, at the World Cup forlifting weights on a bench hosted in Manchester.

For his part, Paschalis Kouloumoglou won the silver medal at -59 kg, since despite the over-effort (he tried twice to break his own national record), he was unable in the finale to overcome the hurdle of Chilean Juan Carlos Garido
