A decoration of the president of the IOC by the Greek President of the Republic

The President of the Hellenic Republic Prokopis Lawrence Parasimoforise The chairman of the International Olympic Committee, Mr Thomas Bach, with the medal of the Grand Cross of the Order of Phoenix, at a special ceremony at the presidential palace. The a decoration was made for the unwavering dedication of Mr. Bach to the Olympic spirit and the Olympic ideals.

The ceremony was also attended by the president of the Greek Olympic Committee and member of the IOC in Greece Mr. Spyros Kapalos, Deputy Minister of Sports Mr. Lefteris Avgerakis, the former prime minister and president of the International Olympic Truce K. George Papandreou, the president of the International Olympic Academy Mr. Isidoros Kouvelos, the Secretary general of the Greek Olympic Committee Mr. Manolis Swimming, the honorary member of the IOC Lambis Nicolaou, the mayor of ancient Olympia Mr. Giorgos Georgiopoulos and former minister Mrs. Fanny Petralia.
