Statement from Rio 2016 Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games

As we get ready to receive the world’s best athletes for the Rio 2016 Games, we feel that it is very important that we underline our stance on doping. First and foremost, Rio 2016 supports the IOC's zero tolerance policy regarding athletes that seek to cheat through doping. Secondly, we have a firm commitment to protect clean athletes. They are the best examples for future generations.

We will work hard with the IOC and our other partners in our obsession to deliver clean Games, giving our full effort to present Games that Brazilian society deserves and that will open on 5 August with a magic celebration of sport and transformation.
