With a 60 per cent increase in less than three years, women now make up over one-third of IOC Commission Members – the IOC note in publishing the 2016 updated list of its Commissions.
The milestone is a direct result of the reforms brought in with Olympic Agenda 2020, the IOC’s strategic roadmap for the future of the Olympic Movement. The Commission Members now number 449, up from 430 in 2015, of whom 150 are women. In Europe, women have more than twenty five per cent of available seats.
