Your love for the environment sends you to Rio!

Your environmentally responsible behavior could take you to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Up until 20 March, users of the My Rio 2016 app who post and share videos of sustainable behavior in the Embrace Challenge will be strengthening one of the main legacies of the Games, while competing for tickets and prizes.

To take part all you have to do is send, via the app, videos up to a minute long that show creative ways to apply sustainability in daily life. The creators of the best videos in each of the six categories for the challenge – water, accessibility, energy, waste, transport and food – will win a pair of tickets to watch their favorite sport-Olympic or Paralympic- and a kit with official Rio 2016 products.

No more illegal parking of vehicles on ramps for people with disabilities in Athens!

A total of 830 sensors were placed by the Municipality of Athens on ramps and crossings for people with special needs, to deal with antisocial parking. "It's not just a lack of respect, it's like saying that you are absolutely indifferent to the person with disabilities, to the grandfather, the grandmother, the mom with the child", stressed the mayor Kostas Bakogiannis speaking to SKAI. As he explained, the sensor, as soon as a car approaches, automatically notifies the municipal police, who will arrive at the spot in real time. Also, those who park at crossings or ramps will be removed the plates and the driving license for 60 days, without a fine.
