The new Greek athlete grants for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

The Hellenic Olympic Committee took important decisions on subsidies for athletes and Federations and on covering the costs of Olympic preparation for the Olympic Games "Paris 2024" at the last plenary session.

The champions Makis Mitas (shooting), Stergios Bilas (swimming) and Emma Katzouraki (shooting) will receive the first part of the €5,000 scholarship that the HOC decided to give to those who qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Also, following the recommendation of the President of the Olympic Preparation Committee, Yiannis Carras, a total of 115,800 euros will be given to the following Federations for the preparation of athletes:

  • €60,000 to the Hellenic Rowing Federation of Fans of Nautical Clubs (EKOFNS) for the entire Pre-Olympic team.
  • €14,000 to the Hellenic Wrestling Federation for the participation of Kougioumtsidis Giorgos, Prevolarakis Giorgos, Kessidis Laokratis, Ilias Pangalidis and Maria Prevolaraki in the World Wrestling Championship.
  • €27,500 to the Hellenic Taekwondo Federation for the entire Pre-Olympic team.
  • 9800 euros to Triathlon champion Panagiotis Bitados for preparation.

Also, an amount of 30,000 euros will be given as grants to EFOEPA by the Olympic Solidarity of the IOC in the framework of the program "Sports Development 2021-2024", as well as the second technical seminar for coaches of the Hellenic Fencing Federation for the period 2021-2024, with an amount of 10,000 euros.

Also, following the recommendation of the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Spyros Capralos, athletes who won a medal at the 2023 European Games will be subsidized with 5,000 euros for gold, 3000 for silver and 2000 for bronze, in the case of Olympic sports. In non-Olympic sports the amounts will be 2,500, 1,500 and 1000 euros.
