Enhancement of the accessibility of banking services to people with disabilities by Piraeus Bank

Piraeus Bank presented at a special event, an expanded innovative framework of actions and initiatives specifically designed to further enhance accessibility and provide a high level of banking service to people with disabilities.
The continuous upgrading of the banking service of people with disabilities is a firm commitment of the Bank and further expands the framework of the multifaceted actions it implements, serving the value of social inclusion, with the aim of forming a society of equal people. These actions are implemented through the EQUALL program that supports social equality through the elimination of social discrimination, exclusion and gender stereotypes.
Η Τράπεζα Πειραιώς, αξιοποιώντας καινοτόμες λύσεις και σύγχρονες τεχνολογικές και ψηφιακές εφαρμογές, έχει υλοποιήσει την τελευταία επταετία σημαντικά έργα για τη διασφάλιση της ισότιμης και ανεμπόδιστης πρόσβασης των ΑμεΑ με στόχο την ολοκληρωμένη τραπεζική τους εξυπηρέτηση. Το πρόγραμμα αυτό έχει σχεδιαστεί σε στενή συνεργασία με τους αντίστοιχους φορείς, ομοσπονδίες & συνδέσμους, οι οποίοι έχουν συνεισφέρει σε ουσιαστικό βαθμό στην προσαρμογή και εξέλιξη του τρόπου λειτουργίας της Τράπεζας.
The framework of banking services provided to people with disabilities is further expanded with new innovative projects such as:
• η υπηρεσία Digital Onboarding που υποστηρίζει την εγγραφή νέων πελατών στην Τράπεζα χωρίς την ανάγκη επίσκεψης στο κατάστημα & αυτοπρόσωπης κατάθεσης δικαιολογητικών. Τα κύρια πλεονεκτήματα της εν λόγω υπηρεσίας είναι:
– Sign Language service.
– For visually impaired persons, the presence of two witnesses is no longer required to start the banking relationship.
– The customer is not required to come to the store.
• the "Remote Cashier". An innovative service that includes:
– Sign Language trained cashiers.
– Braille marking on the machine, allowing transactions to be made by visually impaired people, without requiring the presence of two witnesses.
– Ergonomic trading area, at an easily accessible height for people in a wheelchair.
• the replacement of all cards with new ones bearing a braille writing system in order to enhance the social inclusion of people with visual disabilities, as the message will be disseminated to all customers of the Bank.
• the installation of a voice support system in a large part of the network ATM, which allows specific transactions to be made by visually impaired customers.
Also, as announced by Piraeus Bank, it symbolically donates a puppy to the center "DOGS GUIDES OF GREECE" in order to be given to someone in need, triggering the expansion of this action.
