Election of Olympic champion Pavlos Kagialis to the Athletes' Committee of the European Olympic Committees

A great success for Greece is the election of Olympic sailing champion Pavlos Kagialis to the Athletes' Committee of the European Olympic Committees. Pavlos Kayalis was elected during the 6th Assembly of European Athletes held in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

It is the first time in history that a Greek athlete has been elected to the Committee of Athletes of the EGOC and is a special honor for Pavlos Kagialis and Greek sports.

The President of the European Olympic Committees, Spyros Capralos, congratulated the new members of the Athletes' Committee and called on them to be "the voice of your colleagues, ensuring that they remain at the heart of the discussions and decision-making processes of the European Olympic Committees. This includes working with us to plan and implement the European Games, which is the continent's top event. You must also participate in the fight against doping, defend gender equality in sport and help in the transition from sports to post-athletic career. All this requires your valuable experience, your opinions, your opinion", added Spyros Capralos.
