The stadium that will host football matches for the Olympic Games of Tokyo 2020 announced

Following the presentation from Tokyo 2020, the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, confirmed the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium as a venue for the football competition at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Located in Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture, the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium is one of the top football stadiums in Japan. The venue, which is known for its dynamic atmosphere, was damaged during the 2011 earthquake, but is again fully operational following assistance from FIFA and various stakeholders.
