Opening for the Harvard University Session in Ancient Olympia

The 6th International Scholars Symposium that is organized by the International Olympic Academy in cooperation with the Center for Hellenic Studies of the Harvard University begins on Sunday in Ancient Olympia and will last until the 13th of July. Its subject is “Sports, Society and Culture” and its special subject: “After the Agon: Olympic Memory in Ancient and Modern Athletics”.

Eighty five students will attend the symposium. Among them, for the first time, there will be students from foreign universities while nine professors will give the lectures. The programme of the 6th International Scholars Symposium includes also workshops for the students, sport events and a visit to the archeological site and the museum of Ancient Olympia.
