Los Angeles 2024 Olympic bid promised to promote Francophonie!

To mark International Francophonie Day, LA 2024 vowed to honor and promote the role of the French language in the Olympic Movement should LA be elected host of the 2024 Games.

In addition to implementing Olympic Charter Rule 23 to use both French and English in announcements and signage at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, LA 2024 will ensure that French-speaking volunteers are available to assist athletes and other attendees to make sure they feel at home in the City of Angels. And LA 2024 is committed to celebrating Francophone influences on American and international culture throughout the Cultural Olympiad, and sustaining America's support of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the Francophone world.
