1 year since the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lillehammer 2016

Today marks 365 days since the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Youth Olympic Games Lillehammer 2016. On 12 February 2016, over 1,000 of the best international athletes gathered in the Norwegian city to compete, learn and share and, along with a small army of young organisers and volunteers, together they had an experience they would never forget, while fans around the world witnessed sport’s next generation of stars.

Go Beyond, Create Tomorrow was the motto of the Games, so one year on we will be taking a look at the impact that Lillehammer 2016 has had on some of the participants, from international athletes to volunteers, and the effects on the city and on sport nationwide. Over the next 10 days, be inspired by the stories from Lillehammer 2016 and this new Olympic chapter written by, for and with young people as they continue their YOG journey.
