The final visit of the International Olympic Committee in Rio

The IOC’s Coordination Commission for the Olympic Games of Rio 2016, began its final visit to the Brazilian host city. Led by its Chair, Nawal El Moutawakel, the Commission’s visit comes only four months before Rio 2016 hosts the Olympic Games for the first time in South America.

During its visit this week, the Commission will tour a number of Games venues, many of which have already held successful test events; meet with the local Government authorities; be updated by the Rio 2016 Organisers about different areas of Games preparations and will close with a press conference. These updates will look at areas as diverse as athlete services, sport, media services, the Paralympic Games, venues, Games operations, and the spectator experience.
